The site genuinely monitors downdetector.com's availability, but it does so with a wink and a nod to the inherent comedy of the situation.

While we do make genuine HTTP requests to downdetector.com every 30 seconds, our monitoring has limitations:

• Cloudflare bot detection may affect results (a 403 still counts as "up" since the infrastructure is responding)
• We only check availability, not functionality
• Network issues between our server and DownDetector could cause false positives
• This is a single monitoring point, not a distributed check

For actual uptime monitoring of critical services, please use professional monitoring solutions.
